During anti-wrinkle treatment
On the day of treatment, the skin will be cleansed and, if needed, a topical numbing cream can be applied for extra comfort. Using a very fine needle, your clinician will place small amounts of the wrinkle-relaxing solution into targeted muscles in areas such as the forehead, frown lines and crow’s feet.
The injections themselves are quick – usually just a few minutes – and most patients describe the sensation as brief and easily tolerated. You can return to most normal activities straight after your appointment, though we will advise you on a few simple things to avoid for the rest of the day.
Aftercare and post-treatment advice
Mild redness, small bumps or slight tenderness at the injection sites are common immediately after treatment and usually settle within an hour or two. Some patients may also experience a light headache or small bruises, which typically resolve quickly.
To help your treatment settle well, we generally recommend:
Avoiding rubbing or massaging the treated areas for at least 24 hours.
Staying upright for four hours after treatment.
Avoiding strenuous exercise, saunas and very hot baths on the day of treatment.
Not having facials or other facial treatments for a short period afterwards.
We will provide tailored aftercare instructions and arrange a review or follow-up if appropriate, so you can ask questions and, if needed, have small adjustments made once the results have settled.
